    @MissTeenTexasUSA heyy, add up the numbers. you cant get anything even close to a million with only two countries in hundreds of thousands. are there other countries you forgot to mention that make up the rest, which is like three quarters of the total, or you have a small problem with numbers?

    In Brazil and France it is said that the Brazilian Santos Dumont was the pioneer in aviation rather than the American brother’s Wright. Santos Dumont flew his self-propelled 14-bis with nearly 3,000 witnesses including a scientific committee around the Eiffel Tower in Paris in 1906 (nearly 3 years after brother’s Wright). Brother’s Wright flight in 1903 was performed without witness or a scientific committee to verify its validity, also the unit did not have its own propulsion.

  12. pripolicava March 14, 2010 5:16 pm

    Just finishing my point, it is argued that Brother’s Wright flight does not fulfill the requirements to be admitted as the first flight to be performed.
    Moreover, soccer is also the best game in the world, maybe americans will play it well when they grasp the concept of being fuel efficient….
    Everyone is a winner !

    @MissTeenTexasUSA:

    Is this REALLY how you measure how great your country is? By how popular your products are? How about how you treat your citizens?

    Which one really matters? Have you even considered these questions? The greatest misconception in America is that corporate success translates into a better way of life. It’s simply no longer the case.

    Look, the world is changing, and if you don’t wake up soon, we’re going to leave you behind. I just like you guys too much to watch that happen.

    The Wright Brothers made their first successful test flights on 17 December 1903. This flight is recognized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), the standard setting and record-keeping body for aeronautics and astronautics, as “the first sustained and controlled heavier-than-air powered flight”.

    @MissTeenTexasUSA But that doesn’t make our country great one bit. I could care less about having the most popular gum or soda or phone, I want to be the number one and most popular in something important like health care, and literacy, you know things that matter. No one will ever go you know America is the greatest country in the world you know why, because we make the most popular aftershave. Just by looking at your profile I can tell your an ignorant moron.

    Maher has a point, the United States continues to reference the accomplishments of the previous decades instead of becoming a part of accomplshments in this one. And it’s being left behind due to this country being highly religious and highly uneducated.

  21. lffit March 15, 2010 1:54 pm

    oh la la! the first one GM is bankrupt, the second one Ford survived by doing huge equity swaps and selling everything from Hertz, Jaguar/Land Rover Volvo, Aston Martin and dropping its stake in Mazda, the 4th one Chrysler is potentially its knees ( even with Fiat help), and the rest are financially viable and doing well, what does this say?
    Don’t use this one again cherie it’s frankly embarrassing lol
